LCHS DECA competes at Regional Competition

The Logan County High School DECA chapter recently traveled to Western Kentucky University to compete at their Regional Conference. The day proved to be rather successful with every student qualifying for the State Conference next month. Participants and results are as follows:

Nevaeh Seawright- Hospitality & Tourism and Professional Selling (1st), Jax Shrull- Retail Merchandising (1st), Emma Wood- Kentucky Hospitality and Tourism (1st);

Skyler Ezell- Retail Merchandising (2nd), Courtney Hershberger- Quick Service Management (2nd), Lexus McMurray- Kentucky Hospitality and Tourism (2nd), Ka’lin Clark- Hotel Lodging Management (2nd), Isabel Baker and Eli Higgins- Financial Services Team Decision Making (2nd), Claire Dayton and Camryn Holder- Hospitality an Tourism Team Decision Making (2nd);

Cole Crawford- Financial Consulting (3rd), Jenna Coles and Cade Johnson- Sports and Entertainment Team Decision Making (3rd), Maya Mayhugh- Kentucky Marketing (4th), Emily Sadler- Sports and Entertainment Marketing (4th), Ella Cowherd and Celeste Arterburn- Travel and Tourism Decision Making (5th),and  Neoma Masterman- Kentucky Marketing (6th).

Also at the meeting, the LCHS chapter were recognized as the regions third largest chapter and junior Jenna Coles was elected Region 2 president.

DECA has over 3,500 high school chapters. The mission of the club is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and careers. Amy Wisdom serves as the LCHS DECA sponsor.
