SPECIAL SERVICE: On August 22, 2021 the Slaughters Christian Church held Sunday services at the BEST KEPT SECRET IN KENTUCKYWe rented the meetinghouse at Red River. It made for a MOUNTAIN TOP EXPERIENCEWe strongly urge one and all to take advantage of this opportunity. The drive down to the country is a wonderful journey.

“When we arrived, there were two ladies by the front of the church. We started setting up for the service and they asked what was going on this morning? They were invited to attend, which they did. Kenneth Bates drove over from Hopkinsville to play the keyboard. A great addition to the morning.

“After the sermon by Bro. Robert Clemmons, as we always do, we had communion at the end. The Christian church practices open communion and all were welcome to come to the table. We brought a lunch with us and all ate and fellowshipped. Before leaving, we walked the grounds to look at the graves. A BLESSED DAYGod bless one and all especially those whose heart and soul go into the continuation and upkeep of Red River.”

DIVINE APPOINTMENTS are still occurring on a regular basis at RRMH. We hope to never take for granted how God speaks to more than one person to be at RRMH on a certain day and they enjoy a special time of prayer and worship with strangers who were also called by Him. An example of that is from someone who signed the registry that they had a wonderful time of fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ that they had never before met. The Lord did this in the great revival of 1800 and He has been doing this for years at RRMH. Glory be His name!! If you would like to share your RRMH story in our next newsletter, please send it to redrivermeetinghouse@logantele.com.

Dear Mr. Moore, God is on the move and He is using the legacy of the RRMH to encourage the Body of Christ! On Aug 30, 2021 I came by myself to see the RRMH after hearing about it via Dutch Sheets and his Give Me 15 program. Imagine my surprise when God brought five other people from around the U.S.-who also listened to Dutch on that same afternoon! We had a mini revival--more strangers all drawn by the Spirit of God! We sang, prayed for our nation, the Church, our families and one another, took communion and were anointed with oil. The presence of God was real! Tongues and interpretation were given and we were all encouraged in our faith. Thank you for keeping the RRMH open and available. God is still using it in a mighty way.” In Christ, Denise.

A friend and I discovered RRMH through study. During one visit there were already cars in the parking lot when we arrived. We could hear music. Two women, a mother and daughter were there worshiping. We prayed, sang and shared our stories. The mom and daughter were from Indiana and felt led to drive down just to blow a shofar and take communion. The 2nd lady from Cleveland, TN felt led to drive up and God would provide a place for her to stay. At the monument we had communion and sang. A couple arrived from out of state in an RV who felt led to come to RRMH. They asked what restaurants are in this area. The 8 of us went to my friend's house to share a meal and the Cleveland lady spent the night with my friend. God always meets me here in a beautiful way.” Carolyn Donoho (condensed by editor).

REVIVALS have been amazing at RRMH. In September, Wildfire Ministries had another revival. God richly blessed all who attended.

June 16-18 will be the next Awakening Gatherings with Chris Board. You can find him on Facebook for more information.

ANNUAL MEETING: Bro. Phillip Alexander, pastor of Adairville Baptist Church, was our speaker and referred to the dry bones that Ezekiel saw and how the spiritual conditions of 1800 were dry and are dry now too. We must not give up praying for God to move again! We discussed how Dutch Sheet's Give Me 15 devotional online has really brought a lot of people to RRMH and Glenda Orme Clark spoke on her book research of the impact the 1800 revival had on the Nashville area.

DOCUMENTARY IS IN PROCESS: Stephen D. Ray says, “To God be the glory for the great things He has done, is doing and will continue to do until His return. As a student of history, I knew of Red River, but until I had the honor of being a part of a wonderful team of great folk who saved the oral history of the "3 Rivers", the reality of the important role they played became clear. Having a guided tour by the "Queen of History and a Grand Lady", Mrs. Evelyn Richardson of Russellville, was without question one of the best days of living history I have experienced.

“Yesterday, Jan. 17,I met Mr. Ben Watkins, the videographer, and picked up the revised and edited copy of the video made to preserve the history of the Red River Revival. Plans are being made for the sale and distribution. So as they say "Stay Tuned." Blessings to one, and all.”

Glenda Orme Clark shared her thoughts on being a participant. “So, to remember what God has done in the past is to recalibrate our attention back upon Him, to lift our eyes higher than what is happening around us and encourage ourselves as we remember what He has already done in previous generations. This process has been adopted and practiced by the people of God for thousands of years and has consistently been a catalyst to activate and voice the same prayer that erupted from Habakkuk’s heart. In essence it was this: Lord, we remember what You have done in previous generations. We stand in awe of Your deeds. Renew those deeds in our generation, and in our time make them known.

I guess my prayer for the documentary that was filmed is this: that it would inform those who watch it of what God did in the past in these three locations (and many others); that it would stir a growing hunger for what God is wanting to do in our generation; and from that intense hunger there will burst forth a loud, spontaneous, collective cry from His people that will ascend to the ears of the One in Heaven Whose Presence can interrupt and transform nations. That brings to mind a quote from one person attempting to describe the work of God in the Second Great Awakening: 'the rough, violent and irreligious frontier was tamed by the Lamb of God'. O, Lord. Do it again!”

25th ANNUAL PRIMITIVE CAMPMEETING AND RENDEZVOUS was small as far as campers, but huge with visitors. Brianna Heitzman spoke on Friday night about how God worked and healed her life during her ordeal with Covid. Glenda Orme Clark spoke Saturday night on communion and Robert Operia spoke on Sunday about being deceived. It was a wonderful weekend with many there just to pray and seek God.

October 14-16, 2022 will be our next Annual Primitive Campmeeting and Rendezvous.

31st ANNUAL SCHOCHOH CHRISTMAS PARADE AND 12TH ANNUAL CANDLELIGHT SERVICE Most of the reenactors who attended and participated in the program at the candlelight service rode on a float in the Schochoh parade at 2:00 before coming to the meetinghouse. The meetinghouse was decorated with cedar and holly with primitive lanterns lit in each window and hung from the rafters. Old quilt pieces were placed throughout the meetinghouse on the old wooden pews. The program consisted of hymns sung by Machelle and Joshua Operia, dulcimers played by Steve and Joyce Vann, and guitar played by Laura Gove. Readings from the Old Testament prophecies along with the reading of the Christmas account in Luke was read throughout the afternoon program by Frank Walton, Tom and Dreama Ruley. Lighting of each participant's candle as Silent Night was sung acapella concluded, the wonderful spirit filled service. Approximately 50 people were in attendance and the service was enjoyed by all who came.

We thought the service was coordinated beautifully by Steven Vann. The music and readings made the Bible come to life. It was not just educational, but fun too. The candlelight service always puts us in the Christmas spirit.” by Dreama Ruley

We love the Christmas service at Red River Meetinghouse, the cozy atmosphere and simple service remind us to focus on the important things of this season, our Savior, and the many blessings He has given to us. It also reminds us that we owe our forefathers a deep appreciation for the heritage and hardships they suffered so we are free to worship.” by Ann Evans

Steve and I look forward to the first Sunday in December every year because we are able to gather with our RRMH family and friends. The meetinghouse was beautifully decorated, and the service was filled with Christmas carol singing, the telling of the Old Testament prophecies foretelling the birth of Christ and the Luke account of Christ' birth. We departed with our hearts filled with hope and love. It is not the Christmas season without this celebration. Til next year.” by Steve and Joyce Vann

December 4, 2022 will be our next Candlelight service.

NEW YEAR'S EVE was different than most holidays. The Redemption Kids School of Ministry from Chattanooga brought about 100 people to hear the history of RRMH and to seek revival for our nation again. It was so exciting to see the teenagers and children seeking God. The students were so inspiring to us as they were encouraged to give 100 something, whether it was pennies, seeds or whatever. They left a very nice offering that will go for the pavilion.

The blessings of fellowship and sharing a meal at the annual business meeting is the highlight of my year. Even though we have not been able to have the “normal” annual meetings and fellowship due to the pandemic, we hope that 2022 will be the return to some type of normalcy for RRMH.

Due to the great interest that has transpired this past year and the contributions that have come in, it has encouraged us as we continue preserving the history of this wonderful place.

Richard Moore
