Steer show, sale and carcass contest a week away

“We are only week away from the Logan County Cattlemen's Steer Show, Sale, & Carcass Contest! Sponsorships & Meat Orders are still available! Call today to reserve yours!!! 270-726-6323,” the promotion rings out from the Logan County Extension Service.

FFA and 4-H members and their families have raised these young animals for months, feeding, grooming, training and seeing to the health needs of steers with help from their families and project leaders.

“Come out next Tuesday and support these 4-H and FFA members that have worked hard with their steers this year!” says Logan County 4-H Agent Maci Venable.

Wesley Estes and Jay Campbell are the FFA advisors at Logan County High School. Logan County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent LeAnn Martin grew up raising and showing livestock. Wayne Johnson was named Logan County Cattleman of the Year in 2024.

The public and businesses are encouraged to become a part of the process Tuesday as sponsors, donors and purchasers. Details are in the accompanying graphics.

The steer show begins in the arena at 1 p.m. The Cattlemen’s Dinner starts at 5:30 with the steer sale at 6:30.
