Shadow Riders compete in state 4-H Horse Show

The Kentucky State 4-H Horse Show was held July 7-13 at Broadbent Arena in Louisville. Logan County Shadow Riders had five riders participating this year: Zachary Case, Asa and Bailey Cornelius, Onahka Fuller and J.T. Mayes.

Bailey finished fifth with her pony in Pole Bending out of 30 entries.

 Onahka ran 18.782 in Barrel Racing and 10.686 in Stake Race.

J.T. placed 12th in Showmanship Halter III, 13th in Stake Race III, and14th in Pole Bending III.

In Barrel Racing III J.T. ran 19.098, Zachary ran 20.900, and Asa 21.04 There was 46 contestants in this class.

Logan County Shadow Riders had to compete at District 6 in Bowling Green to qualify for the State Championships.

“We are really proud of how well they did and look forward to the 2014 show year,” says Carla Lawson, who loves horses and supports young people who ride them. “If you have a child that is interested in joining the 4H Shadow Riders Horse Club, please contact the Logan County Extension Office at 726-6323.”
