A Logan County Celebration of the Importance of Character will be held Saturday at CharacterWorks’ County-Wide Summer Party.

All young people are invited for live music, badminton, a bubble station, volleyball, disc golf, horseshoes and other games. The group Cline will perform.

The first 100 children will receive a free hot dog and the first 200 youngsters will be given a frisbee.

David Clarke of Moore Insurance and Logan Aluminum are sponsoring an inflatable. Amanda Gossett of State Farm Insurance is bringing snow cones, popcorn and kids’ carnival prizes.

The CharacterWorks Party will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Summer Street next to Rhea Stadium. Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the activities in comfort.

A banner has been created for each city, and Alicia Carmichael of community education has created a flyer about the event.

“We have a five-person Christian band, fire trucks, emergency helicopter, Roy’s Bar-B-Q, Italian ice, and lots of games and prizes,” says CharacterWorks director Lisa White, who is assistant principal for Russellville Junior High, “This is a time for family and fellowship.”
