LCHS students earn national honors in Art and Writing

The results from the 2025-26 Scholastic Art & Writing competition are in, and the following students have been recognized for artistic excellence on a National level and are to be publicly celebrated.  Jama Wilkins and the Youth Service Center sponsored LCHS’ student entries.

Two students earned the top honor, a Superior Key. One of them, sophomore Sydney Morris, not only received a Gold Key but also a Silver Key on a second entry and an Honorable Mention on a third.

Senior Kara Wilson received a Gold Key and also had an Honorable Mention.

Senior Giulia Cotto received two Silver Keys.

Junior Marine Broto not only earned a Silver Key but also four Honorable Mentions.

Sophomore Skylar Blake will pick up not only a Silver Key but also two Honorable Mentions

Being awarded both a Silver Key and an Honorable Mention was senior Jacob Morr.

Also earning a Silver Key was sophomore Autumn Tiffin.

Junior Ja’Nasia Taylor earned three Honorable Mentions.

Additional Honorable Mentions went to sophomores Timothy Wright and Genesis Escobedo along with juniors Allie Neal and Austin Brown.

LCHS Art Teacher Justine Diedrich says, “Scholastic Art & Writing is the most prestigious creative organization for visual, performing, and language arts students in the country. We are proud to have been awarded and look forward to future competitions.”

She continued, “Our entries were sponsored by the Youth Service Center here at the high school. Mrs. Jama was so gracious and took care of our entry fees so all students could have a chance to enter. “

Teacher Abby Powers represented the English Department in helping submit the entries.

There will be a Regional Recognition Ceremony at the Capitol Theatre in Bowling Green, Kentucky on March 14. This includes a gallery of student artwork and a brief recognition ceremony to follow.
Doors open at 5 p.m.
