This Sunday, Russellville Christian School will celebrate a half century of getting Russellville and Logan County youngsters ready for a successful educational experience in the years to come.

Russellville Christian School’s 50th Year Homecoming & Family Fun Day will be held Nov. 1 from 3-7 at its campus attached to Crittenden Drive Church of Christ, located in Russellville off West Ninth Street.

History:

Russellville Christian School was established in 1976 by Helen Raby, Janet Hall and a group of Crittenden Drive Church of Christ members who believed that all children need to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially.

Those beliefs are true to this day. To develop the highest possible self-esteem, children must become aware of God and His importance in their lives. This knowledge will help them as they begin to grow as children of God, learning a Christ-centered atmosphere.

Proverbs 22:6 states “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This is a verse RCS has held close to for years. Russellville Christian School is not a school merely for the sake of academics, but for planting God’s Word in the hearts of small children. We place our foundation in His word, His truth. We partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education that nurtures the spiritual, academic, and character development of each child. We are committed to training students in the truth and equipping them to live out their faith with purpose and excellence.

Our mission is to strengthen the “faith of yet another generation.” To realize our philosophical goals, RCS will provide a strong developmental and pre-academic basis for each child. It is our hope that the learning experience here at RCS will be both fun and beneficial. Our vision is to raise a generation of students who love God, pursue wisdom, demonstrate strong character, and impact the world for Christ – both now and in the future.

We believe that true education goes beyond academics to shape the heart, mind, and character of each student. All truth is God’s truth and therefore every subject is taught through a biblical worldview. Our approach to education integrates faith into all areas of learning, encourages critical thinking grounded in biblical truth, and partners with families as the primary spiritual influences in a child’s life. At RCS we are committed to equipping students not only for academic success, but for a lifelong walk with Christ.
