Several community-spirited, fun-minded men and the women who dressed them helped Concerned Citizens of Russellville/Logan County raise $860 for itsTutorial Program and Food Bank Saturday. They were part of a Woman-less Beauty Pageant at deGraffenried Auditorium.

Businessman/Sixth District Magistrate Thomas Bouldin was crowned queen. Clay Bilyeu, who also owns his own business and is running against Bouldin for that seat on fiscal court, was second runner-up. In between was first runner-up Kenneth Williams, who is not currently a candidate but is a trucker and cattle farmer. Third runner-up was Ernie Blake.

Crownded Miss Congeniality was businessman Timmy Parrish.

Other contestants were Duck Armstrong, Tim Bailey, Travis Bryan, Judge Logan Chick, Matt Long, Demetrius Martin, Clarence Mason, Gary Sheldon, Coach Phil Todd and Phillip West. The master of ceremonies was Tim Harris of WRUS.

Concerned Citizens Executive Director Dorris Vick says sponsors included magistrates Barry Wright, Drexel Johnson and Jo Orange, Commonwealth Attorney Gail Guiling, County Attorney Joe Ross, district judge candidate Ken Williams, first district magistrate candidate Dickie Carter, and jailer candidates Phil Gregory and Edward Hardin.

Vick notes that videos of the fun evening will be available for purchase. Call Concerned Citizens headquarters at 725-8721 to reserve a copy.

“We’re thankful to all these people who are helping us make a difference in Logan County,” she says.
