The Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) are proud to partner with The Hospitality House in order to host Summerfest at Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards providing a “home away from home” for families with loved ones receiving medical attention at area hospitals. The lunch event provides numerous benefits and fun activities while supporting a great cause.

The Hospitality House provides a home away from home for families of loved ones staying at The Medical Center or Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital, as well as those receiving treatment from the Cancer Center. There is no charge to stay at the House.

“The Hospitality House was created to be a refuge away from the intense atmosphere of the hospital for family members who are involved in the recovery care of a loved one during times of illness or after surgery. We find that sometimes caregivers are so focused on the health of the patient that they don’t take great care of themselves,” said Carla Reagan, executive director of the Hospitality House. “Our organization is here to provide a quiet place to rest and recharge, if only for a few hours sleep. During the first four years we’ve been open, we have watched as our outreach has extended to NICU families, cancer patients during therapy and a variety of other health care patient scenarios. Our goal is for all who stay at the Hospitality House to find a quiet and beautiful place to rest, and leave with a daily smile and encouragement to take them through whatever the day may bring.”

For $25, fans receive admission to Summerfest, lunch at the ballpark, the opportunity to meet and interact with Hot Rods players/staff on the field and a ticket to that evening’s game against the Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds). The Bowling Green Ballpark experience includes batting practice on the field, the opportunity to play catch in the outfield, behind-the-scenes ballpark tours, inflatables for the kids and special auction items for sale.

Summerfest tickets are available now and can be obtained by visiting BGHotRods.com, calling 270-901-2121 or stopping by the Bowling Green Ballpark box office.

“The Hot Rods are thrilled to be hosting Summerfest at Bowling Green Ballpark,” said Hot Rods Chief Operating Officer and General Manager,Adam Nuse. “It’s hard to believe that two hours could be loaded with this much fun for the entire family! Not only do you get a ticket to that night’s game, but you can do things like hit or play catch on the field during Summerfest that are normally done by professional baseball players. Most importantly, this event is going to raise funds for an outstanding organization.”
