Several local students competed in the regional Kentucky Governor's Cup academic team competition held on March 21 at Longest Elementary School in Muhlenberg County.
Two Stevenson Elementary School fifth graders received medals during the event: Jennifer Wilkerson tied for 1st place in written composition and Luke Skipworth placed 3rd in mathematics.
Overall, SES placed 7th out of 18 teams from across the Region 6, which includes schools from Logan, Todd, Simpson, Muhlenberg, Butler, and Ohio Counties. The SES Academic Team is coached by Holly Gilbert.
