Auburn students place first, second in state STLP competition

The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) at Auburn Elementary School competed in the 2015 State STLP Championship in Lexington on March 26. The Auburn STLP is a club for 6th through 8th grade students.  These students learn how to use various technology applications that are used to produce classroom projects.  

Students were able to compete in various areas at the state level competition. 

Taylor Gipson competed in the "Photo on Demand" area and took first place in the state competition. 

Zack Buchanon, Zakk Joiner, Austin Shoemake and Cody Watkins competed in the "Mobile App" area and took second place in the state competition.  

“The STLP sponsors are Jaime Crocker and Pam Simmons, and they have been instrumental in progressing our STLP program to be able to compete at the state level,” says Principal David Ward. “We are very proud of the hard work and dedication that our students and sponsors have exhibited. “    

Other team members are Hope Cassetty, Hayley Dotson, Noah Hayes, Kirsten Johnson, Dylan Monroe, Hannah Price and Elizabeth Scott.
