FRYSC Director Carol Kees and Principal Lisa White were instrumental in securing the WKU Theatre and Dance group to come to Stevenson Elementary recently and perform the play The Emperor’s New Clothes.

Everyone in the school enjoyed watching this group of actors, and the students learned some important lessons through the characters.

After the play, the actors presented a workshop that was also very beneficial for the SEAL music, SEAL art, and GATE creativity students.

Nancy Skipworth, Stevenson’s Gifted and Talented teacher, stated, “These students were able to ask questions about the theatre, acting, and the production of plays. They also were allowed to participate in creative acting games that allowed them to experience a little acting.”

The WKU group presented wonderfully showing details about the theatre to many children who may not have had experiences like this first-hand.
