Olmstead Class of 1965 celebrates 50th anniversary

The Olmstead High School Class of 1965 held its 50th Class Reunion at Federal Grove in Auburn on Nov. 6, 2015.

Pictured are, from left, seated, Gayle Markham Goley, Jane Wilson Harper, Sue Downing Wood, Cheryl Bond Karay, Sara Baker Brooks, Teacher/Coach Jimmy Milam; standing,  Donnie Little, Bruce Alvis, Jim Garrett, Teacher Mike Roberts, John Ferguson, Class President Charlene Akin Piper, Tony Berry, Mary Joyce Poor, Randall Watkins, Lucille Browder Flowers, Sue Kemp Gibson, Mary Darby Harper, Nancy Fyke Horton, Larry Dotson, Joel Campbell, Herman Taylor, Michael Brown, Charlie Page and Teacher Denny Milam. Not pictured was Robert (Bob) Baker.

Delightful entertainment was provided by Jane Wilson Harper. Class members brought everyone up to date on their lives. Teachers Jimmy Milan, Denny Milam, and Mike Roberts and wife Marie were extended a special welcome. 

Memorials were given for deceased class members. Among the deceased are James Ernest Bailey, who served two terms as county judge-executive, and Dannie Blick, who served multiple terms as sheriff.  

A get-well card was signed by all for Roger Hughes.  

Members decided to have the next reunion in two years.
