Middle School Wizard of Oz cast announced

The fifth through eighth grade cast of the upcoming Wizard of Oz to be presented by Logan County Middle Schools has been announced by Director Melanie Gragg Manley following auditions the past few days.  Over 70 youngsters auditioned.

They are as follows:

Dorothy: Reece Sears and Makayla Strode

Glinda: Harley Robertson and Mary Mayhugh

Wicked Witch: Monica Yates and Cheyenne Anderson

Scarecrow: Laren Hines and Peyton Etheridge

Tin Man: Heath Cross and Mallory Shoemake

Tryouts are to be held at Crossroads Church for ensemble parts among second through fourth graders when weather permits. As many as 20 youngsters will be cast for these parts.

Manley says, “I would like to thank our casting team, who had a very hard job with all of the talent that came out to audition. Thanks so much to Meaghan Ritchie, Magan McFadden Gaddis, Larry Vaught and Tammy and Mike Triplett. This group all has background in theater and performing arts and are talented in their own right!”
