Chandlers School was recently chosen for the Kinsa FLUency program. Chandlers was one of only 90 schools chosen for the program out of 1,200 applications nationwide.

Through the FLUency program, Kinsa will provide each family at the school with their award-winning Smart Thermometer for free. The digital thermometer is sold for $30 in retail stores. Kinsa also creates a school group where parents can anonymously share information related to illness and symptoms.

This technology provides the school with a better view of what illnesses are “going around” in an effort to keep students and the community healthier, reduce sick days, and fight viruses before they spread.

Nurse Marcy Duncan initiated the program at Chandlers and assisted parents in signing up for the program. Nearly 150 families have already downloaded the app and received the free smart thermometer. Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive.
