Students at Chandlers School in Ms. Casi Bright’s, Mrs. Brianna Scott’s, and Mr. Zach Simpson’s fifth grade classes recently participated in a living wax museum. Students were able to choose a famous person in history to portray.

This activity required students to identify significant contributions these individuals made throughout their lifetime. Fifth graders were encouraged to select a person that they could make connections to with their own goals and dreams. The teachers worked with students to learn and build their research skills.

Along with researching their famous individuals for their significance in the world, students worked to create a visual tri-fold display as part of their presentations for the parents and students at Chandlers School. All fifth grade students also dressed as their famous individual, and delivered a short speech to visitors and students that walked around and toured the exhibits illustrating the life of the person they represented.

Several famous individuals that were included in the Living Wax Museum were Amelia Earhart, Michelle Obama, Michael Jordan, Pablo Picasso, Eleanor Roosevelt, and George W. Bush.
