Russellville Independent Schools held its first “Little Panther Academy” at the Logan County Public Library on Friday, Sept. 16, from 10—11:30 a.m.

Preschool Director Linda Shelton says she was very pleased with the attendance of the children and families. There were 16 total children from newborn to three years.

The children enjoyed planned activities that included: musikgarten, storytelling, make-it and take-it activities (featuring learning their colors this month), and crafts.

The purpose for beginning the “Little Panther Academy” is to teach parents to become “teachers” of their children, provide families with resources and information to help their children become “School Ready”, and to learn some of the necessary developmental skills children need in order to be successful.  Each child was presented a new book to take home also.

Future Dates will be Fridays: Oct. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 16, Jan. 20, Feb. 24, March 24, April 28.

Registration is open to parents of children, birth to 3 years old.  For more information call Linda Shelton at 270-726-8405 or Carol Kees at 270-726-4798.
