The Logan County Marching Cougars are headed to state again. By qualifying at regional competition last week, the LCHS band will perform at South Oldham High School Saturday. They will be trying to qualify for the state finals tomorrow night at the University of Louisville’s home football field, Papa John’s Stadium.

One of the largest schools in this area, Logan County competes in Class 4A.

Logan County is a Class 4A school and Russellville a Class A school. Classification depends on size of the school. The band has 86 members.

Logan’s theme is “Don’t Bother, They’re Here- Send in the Clowns.” Among the musical arrangements are “Send in the Clowns,” “Fascinating Ribbons” and Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto #2.”

Logan County earned two Reserve Grand Champions awards in shows during the season, and has received a Distinguished rating.

David Dayton is the LCHS band director. Former director Mandy Beasley has helped bring the show together as have other members of Dayton’s staff.
