The holiday season gets its official start today when the third annual Mistletoe Market opens to holiday shoppers at 9 a.m. at the Logan County Extension Office. It lasts until 4 p.m.

Over 50 vendors will have their creations and their wares for sale. Offerings vary from handmade crafts to nationally known lines of clothing, jewelry, fragrances and a wide variety of gifts.

The twice-a-year event is the brainchild of Marcia Miller Key, who owns and operates The Tangled Trunk jewelry. She depends on the assistance of her friend Patricia Dauley of Premier Jewelry.

Key wrote this on the day before the market:

‘Twas the night before Mistletoe Market, when all through the extension office, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The booths were all stocked with the fabulous merchandise with care, in hopes of many shoppers soon to be there. The vendors were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of happy shoppers danced in the heads.
