We want to take the opportunity to thank all the Panther supporters who came out last night for our Panther Party, especially those members of the Panther Party committee that has worked for many months to ensure that this “rejuvenation” of the annual party was a success. We had a good evening of food, laughter and fellowship, along with some great items for the silent auction. We look forward to the committee’s continued work to making this an annual event once again.

During this event, club sponsor Tanya Mullen was notified that RHS Senior Bryan Ison is this year’s recipient of the 3rd District BETA Scholarship. Congratulations to Bryan for obtaining this honor!

Ashlee Gilbert, RHS junior, was also chosen to serve as the 3rd District Secretary—another great honor for our BETA program. We are super proud of you both. FBLA

Several students from RHS recently attended the Regional FBLA Conference held in Owensboro with RATC Teacher Paulette Smith. RHS students Johnny Drumgole, Pedro Bradshaw and Deshaun Mason received 1st Place in Digital Video Productions for the submission “The Escape Plan”. These students have earned a spot to compete at the state conference in April. Congratulations to this talented trio!! A link to their video: https://youtu.be/g7MbMjIi3TM

SPRING SPORTS

A glance at our upcoming events for this week will tell you that our spring sports are in full swing at RJSHS!! Both middle school and high school baseball teams are in action, along with high school softball and tennis. Good luck to our spring sport teams!!

ACT

The statewide ACT date is scheduled for March 21. To prepare for this annual assessment, our junior students have been working since October in an online prep program called CERT. Students take three mock assessments and then use their individual results to review the areas in which they need the most work.

This past week, we took our final mock assessment in the CERT program. The overall composite score for our total junior class was a 20, which is a phenomenal improvement from our 1st round in October. Our students and teachers have worked diligently to improve upon their scores and reach their goals over this last several months.

Students will be rewarded on Thursday and Friday with our 2nd Annual March Madness Party. Mr. Blake has secured a large variety of prizes and gifts from the community for giveaways to occur once every 15-20 minutes!! We look forward to celebrating our 10th and 11th grade students who met their CERT goals and our 12th grade students who are college and/or career ready during our party!!

Parents, students can access their CERT accounts at any time—encourage them to work this week on completing the remainder of their quizzes! They can also login and share those results with you from home!! Ask them to do that today!!
