Craigs plan to sell Todd County Standard
Ryan Craig, owner and publisher of the Todd County Standard, has announced that the state's best small newspaper is for sale, either in total or in partnership. He is willing to sell the entire operation or he would consider offers to go into partnership with an investor. Craig, who lives in Russellville but grew up in Todd County, cited his health problems as a need to make changes. His wife, the former Jenni Osborne, has battled serious health issues herself since her senior year in journalism school, over a decade ago. Craig said he would like to sell the paper to someone local, just as Mike Finch did when he sold it to him. The Standard has been named the top small paper in the state by the Kentucky Press Association in 11 of the past 12 years. A former executive director of the Logan Chamber of Commerce, Craig is currently president of the Kentucky Press Association.

Tarheels stand in way of
UK trip to Final Four
With Kentucky's De'Aaron Fox putting fellow freshman Lorenzo Ball firmly in his rearview mirror, the Kentucky Wildcats overwhelmed UCLA 86-75 Friday in the NCAA South Regional at Memphis. Fox scored 39 points as compared to Ball's 10. Ball, who has become more famous for the loud remarks of his father, LaVar Ball, than for his own play, announced after the game that he will be moving on to the NCAA. Kentucky, however, is moving on to a rematch with North Carolina today at 4:05 p.m. on CBS. The two "bluebloods" of NCAA basketball met in December with UK winning 103-100 behind 47 points by another Wildcat freshman, the talented by inconsistent Malik Monk. Kentucky is the winningest team all-time in NCAA history with 2,205 wins, 32 more than third place UNC. Kansas, which lost to Oregon Saturday night, is second all-time. With Kansas, Duke, Arizona and Michigan State sidelined, UK's John Calipari is the only coach among the final six teams who relies on freshman more than upperclassmen each year. The Final Four will be played next week in Phoenix. The computerized artwork below is by Trey Turner of the LoJo.
