Nine new members added to RHS NHS

The Russellville High School Chapter of the National Honor Society met this afternoon for its annual induction ceremony. Students who were extended this prestigious invitation include the following: 
10th Graders
• Javier Canales
• Jacob Naylor
• Shawn Steele
• Katie Ray Holloman
• Anna Shoulders
• Alexis Pacheco Ramirez

11th Graders
• Brock Cleary
• Austin Coursey
• Kobe Kerr

Congratulations to these hard-working, deserving students! I have also been made aware that Katie Ray Holloman has recently received some very good news regarding her pursuit of becoming a marine biologist!! More to come regarding this special honor!

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Russellville Lady Panthers, both middle and high school teams, were honored during their annual banquet this afternoon at the school. Coach Calvin Head has reported the honors: See them in a related story on The LoJo at http://theloganjournal.com/Stories.aspx?Article=sports957

**Senior Loreal Cheaney will also be honored on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 during her college signing. Loreal has agreed to sign on with the Volunteer State program which is being led by RHS Alumni, Otis Key. We wish Loreal the best as she prepares for this new journey and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes on this level of basketball!!

Congratulations to these young ladies and to both Coach Head’s coaching staff and Coach Crowder’s.

LT. GOVERNOR

On Wednesday, April 26, Russellville Jr/Sr High School will welcome Mrs. Jenean Hampton, Lt. Governor of Kentucky, onto our campus. Lt. Governor Hampton will be addressing the student body at 9:00 and then visiting classrooms. She and her staff will conclude their visit to our school with a luncheon prepared by our Panther Catering Culinary Program under the direction of Mrs. Ashley McGinnis.

Our RJSHS Ambassadors will host the 5th grade students from SES this day, as well, for the transition/move-up day. 5th grade students will be on our campus until 11:30. Mr. Brandon Blake has reported that the 6th grade Ambassadors have been working for diligently to prepare an information-filled morning for our guests!

PROM

The Russellville High School Junior/Senior Prom will be held this Saturday, April 29th. All guests who do not attend our school must have a pre-approved form on file. The deadline was Friday but we can take those tomorrow, as well. The doors prom entrance will be open from 7:30-8:30 for arrivals. Door will close at 8:30 with students remaining on campus until the ending time of 11:00.
