The first earthmover was trucked into a hay field/cross country track on the Bowling Green Road less than a year ago. Now the Logan County Career and Technical Center is less than a half year away from opening, replacing the building that began as "the vocational school" about 50 years ago on the campus of Russellville High School.

Both local school boards will discuss the two buildings at Tuesday night's meetings.

The Logan County Board of Education will asked to do the bookkeeping of approving 11 change orders on the new building, according to a release from Kimberly Guffey. The 11th would grant the contractor 16 additional days to complete the project because of weather delays. The new completion date would be Dec. 19, which would still allow time for the move to be made next semester.

The Russellville board will meet early tonight, at 5 p.m., to "discuss plans for the Russellville Area Technology Center building when they move to their new facilities." according to a press release from Ann Mosier.
