In Russellville Independent Schools, Reading is UNIVERSAL!  Russellville READs!, A Birth-to-Graduate Initiative for Reading, Engagement, & Development, received “wheels” on Friday, Aug. 18, as the Russellville READs! Bookmobile rolled through the community to promote literacy.

Thanks to Jeff Hulsey, owner of Twisted Concepts in Madison, Tenn., the Russellville READs! concept that Reading is UNIVERSAL came to life with the “Out-of-This-World” design on the bus.

The Bookmobile made its official debut Friday night at the “Clash of the Cats”, Logan County vs Russellville football game. Free books from Pre-K through High school were given to Russellville city students.  Also, at that time, Russellville Independent Schools’ families were able to register their family to receive a Russellville READs! Bookmobile library card.

After additional wiring and library books are arranged, the Bookmobile will be ready for Russellville city families to check out books and technology on a regular basis.  A regular route will be established so families will know exactly when and where the Russellville READs! Bookmobile will be located.

The Russellville READs! Literacy team consists of Dr. Steve Moats, Sara Jennings, Michele McCloughan, Cassie Reding, and Lisa White.
