A night golf scramble, auction and dinner will be held this Saturday to benefit the family of the late Jason Shoemake, who died recently as the result of a construction accident in Louisiana. It will be begin at 3:30 p.m. at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Russellville.
Mr. Shoemake was married to the former Christy Nash. They have two young daughters, Mallory and Destiny. He owned and operated JJ Quality Roofing. His wife works for Lewisburg Banking Company.
The scramble will consist of four-person teams playing nine holes in the daytime and nine holes at night. Golfers are encouraged to bring flashlights. The fee is $240 per team. Advance registration is at the Rolling Hills office.
Food will be available. Rhonda Wright, who is Christy’s cousin and Jason’s sister-in-law, says, “Nachos, hot dogs, pork butt sandwiches, drinks, homemade ice cream & baked goods will be for sale from 2-6 p.m. Live auction of a variety of generous donations will begin around 5 or 6 p.m. We have a Facebook group about the event that has photos of the auction items.”
Several items can be found on the page. One of the most touching is Logan County High School sophomore Micah Page, who is donating her collection of 21 ceramic dolls to the cause.
