LCHS FFA members and teams compete at state fair

On August 17 and 18, the Logan County FFA Chapter attended the Kentucky State Fair. The members and officers competed in a variety of judging contests ranging from Dairy, Livestock to Meats. Along with other contests in Agronomy, Nursery, Floriculture, and Quiz contest. Freshmen that have recited the FFA Creed also attended on Friday to experience Agriculture and FFA exhibits.

The members that competed worked diligently during class and after school to prepare for these contests and their hard work paid off.

The Dairy Judging team received 8th place in the state. The team consisted of Gracie Wharton, Bailey Cornelius, Rachel Taylor and Hannah Price. Hannah also received an individual ranking of 11th place in the state.

The Livestock Judging team received 11th place at state. The team consisted of Jessalyn Robey, Meleea Reno, Zach Milam, and Alex Walpole. Meleea also received an individual ranking of 16th place in the state.

The Agronomy team received 11th place. The team consisted of Addie White, Caroline Davenport, Hayley Hollman, and Briley Robinson.

The Nursery team received 12th place. The team consisted of Kate Malott, Jackson Blythe, John Hendricks and Maria Wells.

Ashlyn Tracey received 5th place in the Quiz contest.

Meats team consisted of Ethan Robey, Jordan Baer, Korbin Deberry, and Kolton Coomer.

Floriculture team consisted of Micah Page, Daizie Dean, and Gracie Knuckles.

The teams this year worked very hard and the chapter is very proud of their accomplishments.
