The Logan County High School Career and Technology programs hosted Elective Exploration Days for the district’s eighth grade students on January 23 and 25. At the event, participants rotated among sessions where current high school students and teachers provided information about the various electives offered.

Thanks to the close proximity of the newly opened Logan County Career and Technical Center (CTC) to the high school, many participants were able to tour the LCCTC building. The LCCTC houses specialized courses, including Industrial Maintenance, Principles of Health Science, and Introduction to Computer-Assisted Drafting.

In addition to providing students with the ability to make better informed decisions regarding electives, this experience also provided eighth graders from across the district the opportunity to interact with each other and LCHS student leaders and faculty members.

Based on the positive feedback garnered from the students, LCHS and eighth grade teachers, and guidance counselors, the Elective Exploration Day will become an annual event.
