Stephen Stratton says, “My dream has always been to be the Logan County Sheriff. I have worked the past 20 years for this moment. I have put in thousands of hours to be where I am today. I took the biggest risk of my life by filing to run for Sheriff. I was aware there stood a chance I would be fired, and I was. With the encouragement of friends, family and community support I laid it all on the line for my dream.”

Stephen P. Stratton is running for the office of Logan County Sheriff. He is a life-long Logan Countian and currently lives in Russellville. He is the son of Steve and Beth Stratton of Auburn, husband of Amanda Warren Stratton and the father of four sons. He is currently a member of New Friendship Baptist Church and serves the youth on Wednesday nights in Awana.

He has 20 years of law enforcement experience—eight years as a Road Deputy, two years in Drug and Criminal Investigations and 10 years as Captain of Administration.

“As Sheriff I plan to make financial decisions that will benefit the department as well as Logan County as a whole. I will use my experience as Captain of Administration to implement adequate leadership back into the department for a stronger, more unified division which will benefit the employees as well as this count,” Stephen Stratton says. “The hard work of the men and women at the Sheriff’s Department should never go unnoticed.”

Stephen Stratton is running for the Democratic nomination for sheriff in Tuesday’s primary election. He is opposed by incumbent sheriff Wallace Whittaker and fellow challengers Charles Dauley and Morris Lynn Kisselbaugh.
