LCHS FFA members compete at state fair

On August 16-17 of last week the Logan County FFA took 46 members to Louisville to compete at the fair.

On Thursday, the Agronomy team placed 5th, the Dairy Judging team placed 12th, the Livestock Judging team placed 14th, and the Meat Science team placed 15th.

On Friday, the Nursery team placed 14th and the Floriculture team placed 13th.

The following are the members of each team:

Agronomy: Macon Barrow, Crandal Barrow, Morgan Gafford, and Gracie Wharton.

Dairy: Abby Wright, Brooke Johnson, Sydnee Claypool, and Ashlyn Tracy

Livestock: Jailyn Campbell, Hannah Price, Mallory Whitson, and John Dawson Celsor.

Meat Science: Noah Rust, Abby Canler, Mason Haley, and Price Violette.

Nursery: Jamasyn Belcher, Madeline Reno, and Lillanne Elam.

Floriculture: Briley Robinson, Caroline Davenport, Addie White, and Hayley Hallman.

Along with the competitions, students could participate in agricultural exhibits. Products off of their family farm can be submitted to compete against members across the state. The following are the Logan County FFA exhibits.

Mallory Whitson: Grass Hay Mix

Crandal Barrow: Grass Hay Mix

Macon Barrow:  8 ears of Corn

Jaxon Hendrix: 8 ears of Corn

Jackson Reader: 8 ears of Corn

Ethan Robey: Wheat

Carter Spivey: Soybean plant

The Logan County FFA chapter would like to thank and congratulate the individuals who put in the work to compete at the Kentucky State Fair.
