Age is nothing but a number. For the first time ever, Stevenson Elementary School has provided an opportunity for 4th and 5th graders to become SES Ambassadors.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, Superintendent Bart Flener met with the selected students and celebrated their achievement with a pizza luncheon. The students gained the privilege of being an Ambassador if they scored a proficient or distinguished on the K-PREP exam.

It is a great time for younger students to take on leadership roles that will benefit their peers and themselves. They will become stronger communicators, understand the value of school, and know the rewards that come with being diligent.

Some underestimate young children and their ability to take on big responsibilities, but this is a new chance for 4th and 5th graders to prove doubters wrong. It is awesome to see even the little ones are being recognized for their efforts.

The Ambassadors from the Fourth Grade are McClayne Beachy, Genesis Terry, and Jacoia Orius. The Ambassadors from the Fifth Grade are Trystanne Hickman, Marie Rubi Silas, Chloe Penrod, Adrianna Clayton, and Marlie Mason.

The SES Ambassador sponsor is Kaitlin Yowell.
