Sherry Wilkins has helped keep the Logan County Circuit Clerk’s office running efficiently and without controversy for 42 years. She’s ready and willing to continue that service for another term.

Wilkins is the Democratic nominee for circuit clerk, subject to the Nov. 6 general election,

She joined the Circuit Clerk’s office in 1976 under past Logan Circuit Clerk Jim Nealy. She served as Chief Deputy Clerk until Nealy’s retirement. She was then elected as his successor.

In the last 16 years I’ve led the implementation of new technology in our office through the Administrative Office of the Courts,” she says. “We have instituted online filings, digital record keeping and online payments for pre-payable tickets. The office receives lawsuits and court documents, records legal documents, provides legal documents and other legal materials. It is our responsibility to administer oaths, handle affidavits and issue driver licenses and non-driver identification cards.”

A 1964 graduate of Russellville High School, the former Sherry Johnson has been married to Jerry Wilkins for 53 years. They are the parents of Brent Wilkins of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Christy Wilkins of Russellville.
