Before classes officially began on Monday, Nov. 12, Stevenson Elementary presented a Veterans' Day Recognition Service.

SES Student Ambassadors held flags from each Military Branch of Service and one was a POW/MIA flag. The USA flag was centered in the middle. Student Ambassadors also helped lead in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and shared informative information regarding why we celebrate Veterans Day

RHS Senior Carson Kash sang the national Anthem, and visiting Veterans were asked to stand and be recognized. SES has several staff that have served in the Armed Forces prior to their teaching career.

Guest speaker for the morning was Officer Robbie Matthews, who shared some of his experiences while being in the Army.

Mrs. Elaine Blythe was the coordinator of this special presentation, and the program ended with the kindergartners singing “This Land is Your Land”.

SES is definitely grateful for all those who have served and are currently serving in the military for the freedoms we have in this great USA.
