The Logan County High School chapter of the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) held its first “Day of Service” on Dec. 4. The event sought to provide club members opportunities for public service in their local community.

An ambitious schedule of events had club members working across Logan County at sites including the high school, Good Samaritan, the Russellville Park, and the Logan County Humane Society. Most of the services performed were pick-up/clean-up activities; however, the day also provided an opportunity to help organize a food pantry as well as a chance to interact some with dogs and cats.

Senior FCCLA club correspondence secretary Kate Malott commented, “Overall, this was an excellent day for the FCCLA chapter to give back to the community. It was extremely rewarding for everyone involved and we hope to make this an annual event.”

The LCHS-FCCLA is sponsored by JoElla Morrow and Amy Taylor.
