Gen. Humble speaks at schools' Veterans Day observance

On Monday, Nov. 11, Stevenson Elementary, Russellville Middle School, and Russellville High school celebrated Veterans Day.

At each of these ceremonies there was a presentation of Colors by the JROTC with members 1st LT Noah Brown, 1st LT Taylor Gwynette, 1st SGT Olivia Bollenbecker, and Cadet Andrew Colston.

The Russellville Choir also performed two selections, “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful” under the direction of Trevor Cardwell. Russellville Choir members are Brendan Farlee, Laura Mullen, Colin Siletchnik, John-Matthew Parrish, Tristin Erby, Kenyon Kerr, Isadora Perez, Emma-Grace Gwynette, Jennifer Wilkerson, May Ouasombath, Jordan Cothrn, and Zyairia Amos.

Guest Speakers Jeff Sanford, William Woodard, Major General Jerry Humble, Kristie Inscoe and Cameron Kisselbaugh came to these ceremonies and shared their personal stories about their time serving in the military.

Superintendent Bart Flener commented, “Students were attentive and engaged in this special day of thanks for our veterans!”

The Russellville Independent School District is grateful for these Veterans for their service in protecting our country, and for all of those who are currently serving.
