On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Logan County Beautification Committee was pleased to recognize its second winner in the residential category, Eloise Hadden of Auburn.

Her home was originally built  in 1867. Since her purchase of the property Mrs. Hadden has maintained the original look of the home. With freshly painted siding, new shrubbery and more she was able to restore the home to model how it looked during the 1800's.

Committee President Keith Batchelor says he was honored to award a certificate to Mrs. Hadden in recognition of all her hard work. She turned 89 this year and has lived in this house 64 of those years. The home itself is 157 years old!

The mission of the Logan County Beautification Committee is to enhance the visual beauty of Logan County, preserve its historical values, and to promote our community for the common good of our residents and businesses.

The committee is looking to award qualifying residential, commercial, or entrance at least once a month. If you would like to nominate a property, please visit
