On December 4-5, the Concerned Citizens of Logan County are collaborating with Walmart, Ski Daddy;s, Feed the Children and Goods 360 to sponsor “A December to Remember.”

On Friday, Dec. 5, beginning at 9 a.m., young people in grades 1-12 will be allowed to shop for free at the Concerned Citizens Building—located at 428 East Fifth Street in Russellville—to pick gifts for their parents. They can also register for a chance to win one of six bicycles and a scooter to be given away that afternoon. All items are new.

On Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., one parent from each household will be allowed to shop for free for each of their children. Any parent who shops for more than one child must present proof that the child resides in that home. An acceptable ID would be a Social Security card for the child, a food stamp letter identifying the child as a household member, or any other government identification (birth certificate, school record, etc.)

Upon arrival, please remain in your vehicle until instructed to get out.

Face masks will be required. Social distancing will be practiced as well. There are no exceptions to the face mask rule. Parents must have proof that the child resides with them.

The LoJo

The Concerned Citizens are conducting a fundraiser that will also benefit the community. They are selling discount cards for $10 or three for $25. Fifteen local eateries are offering special monthly deals throughout 2020-21.

These restaurants are offering two for the price of one deals: Subway Sandwiches & Salads, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Solazteca, El-Molcajete, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, Burger King, McDonalds, and Arby’s.

Those offering buy one-get a reduced price on another: Roy’s BBQ, Sylfoni’s Pizza, Pizza M.D.. Sonic Drive-In and Dad’s Restaurant. Domino’s offers a reduced price pizza.
