CharacterWorks is a campaign that is focusing on character development of our youth and families of Logan County. CharacterWorks will provide support and recognize our youth that exhibit strong character such as integrity, determination, honor and respect. Each week, we will recognize youth who exhibit strong character. During festivals, parades and community events, our students of character will lead the activities as they develop into our leaders of tomorrow.

Each month, Logan County will highlight a character trait. Watch for signs through Logan County that display our character word for the month.

April is determination month. Determination means working toward your goal whole-heartedly regardless of challenges!

Throughout each month, businesses, organizations, the newspaper and radio, the churches and schools will focus on the character trait. The citizens of Logan County will see the character word on signs, emails and newsletters.

Beginning in August, our schools will nominate students of character which will be recognized in the paper each month.

Lewisburg and Adairville have already proclaimed to be a Character City. Eventually, all cities will do the same and join Logan County in becoming a County of Character.

We are in the process of planning a special event to kick off our campaign.

July 28th is our roll out event date. We will begin at 9:00 AM with a talent show, then move to some character sessions held by our community businesses and leaders and then end with prize drawings and special musical performances.

CharacterWorks purpose is to provide a unified focus on supporting and recognizing our young leaders of tomorrow. Through a strong mission, our youth will benefit because they will realize that having strong character is so important to ones success, that our entire county is behind CharacterWorks.
