The second annual School Ready Fest will be Saturday, July 13 from 8-11 a.m. at the Logan County Ag Extension Office. Students must be present to receive services, which will include back pack and school supplies.

Free haircuts will be provided for students again this year by local beauticians and barbers who volunteer their time. We will also have a limited number of school and or sports physicals available provided by the Auburn Clinic.

Logan County Health Department has set aside two days to provide school physicals...July 25 at LCHS and July 31 at RHS. Appointments can be made for these physicals while at Ready Fest.

Logan County Health Department will also have information at Ready Fest on vaccinations from Kindergarten to sixth grade. If your children are transferring from out of state, you can also get your child's immunization record transferred to a Kentucky certificate. Just bring all immunization records with you to Ready Fest.

The tooth fairy will also make an appearance among the vendors’ tables and give free dental supplies to students. You don't want to miss the tooth fairy!!

Local fire, police, EMS, and the Drug Task Force will be on hand to allow students to get inside the emergency vehicles, ask questions and just get to know the first responders during a positive interaction.

This event is open to all students in the Russellville and Logan County school systems as well as Russellville Christian School and homeschool students.

This event is brought to you by the Logan County Youth Action Team Inc. and made possible by donations from local businesses, individuals and organizations.

We served close to 800 students last year, providing school supplies that day to over 700 with others picking up supplies the first day of school. Local beauticians and barbers provided over 80 haircuts and Stacia Staples, ARNP, provided close to 40 physicals.

Door prizes will be given away at the end of the event.

We could not provide this service without the generosity of our community. Donations and volunteers are still accepted. We can use volunteers for set up as well as the day of the event. Please email kathy.thweatt@barrenriverhealth.org or call 270-725-1406 to donate, volunteer or if you have a question.
