Fall 2013 Community Education classes listed

This class is for anyone who knows a few chords and wants to learn more. Instructor Charles Crafton of Lewisburg will help you focus on rhythm and changing chords. Just bring your acoustic guitar to class and get ready to have a great time. Bro. Terry Bryant will be a special guest singer/player.

Class Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Dates: Monday, Oct. 21; Monday, Oct. 28, Thursday, Nov. 7; Monday, Nov. 11; Monday, Nov. 18; Monday, Nov. 25; Thursday, Dec. 5; Monday, Dec. 9; and Monday, Dec. 16

Location: Stevenson Elementary School library

Cost: $90

 

Learn to create authentic, popular Hispanic dishes in this five-week cooking class taught by Elda Chavez, who grew up cooking eating authentic Hispanic cuisine. She’ll provide all the ingredients for your tasty treats. All you’ll need to bring to class is your appetite for good food and learning!

Class Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (except for the final class, which will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)

Dates: Mondays, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18 and Nov. 25

Location: Russellville High family and consumer sciences room

Cost: $60

 

Have you always wanted to make a quilt for someone special? Joanne Fransen-Gilliam, a seasoned quilt fiber artist and juried member of Kentucky Crafted, will help you reach your goal. Sewing machines will be available for you at class or you may bring your own portable machine. A list of other supplies you’ll need will be provided for you when you register.

Class Time: 6 to 8 p.m.

Dates: Tuesdays, Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19

Location: RHS family and consumer sciences room
