The Russellville Arts Council presented "An Evening of Choral Music" in honor of the late Ruth Morriss on April 28 at the deGraffenried Auditorium of Russellville High School.

The well-attended event began with a word of welcome from Larry Vaught, followed by a presentation of the national anthem by members of Polyvocae. Special guests were then recognized during a visual tribute to Mrs. Morris, including her son Dent Morris.

Several members of the RHS Drama Department presented excerpts from their upcoming musical, "Mary Poppins." The newly formed Logan County High School Chorus presented "A Season of Singing," after which the featured group of the evening, "The Spirit of the Commonwealth" (formerly known as The Cavemen) performed a concert featuring their "barbershop" style of music.

The event was sponsored by Emerson Climate Technologies, First Southern National Bank, the Russellville School Board, the Logan County School Board, the Russellville City Council, and the Logan County Fiscal Court.
