This year's fall encampment at the Red River Meetinghouse – October 9-11. This will be the 20th anniversary of our living history reenactments and we want it to be a family reunion atmosphere. We have many special things planned. If you have friends who have expressed interest in coming with you, please encourage them to do so.

This event was inspired by homework that Tom Ruley was assigned to while he attended Bible college in Nashville. We are so blessed to announce that we have the professor, Mark McPherson, who gave Tom that assignment, preaching for us this fall. He has lived many years as a missionary in Brazil and now is president of the Bible college where Tom attended. Those from our first years will remember Muskrat Jack (Mike Longstreth), our very first preacher at our event. He will be preaching for us in October as well. We are so glad to welcome him back.

We are working on having a special memorial service for the various soldiers from wars in our country's past who are buried in our Red River Meetinghouse cemetery.

Steve and Laura Gove will have their traveling museum and presentation on the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence. Robert Operia will present on 18th century medicine.

Coy's BBQ will be our food vendor. He has been our vendor for two years and we are very pleased with his service, food quality and prices.

As always we will have the annual auction on Saturday. We have changed it to a silent auction and Tom wraps it up with final bids. The auction became so large we had to find a way to shorten the time spent auctioning things off. We still have a wide variety of items so it is always fun to see what is for sale and how much it will bring. Feel free to bring items for the auction.

Our Sunday service will include a period correct Scottish Presbyterian sacrament service which in modern speak is: communion styled the way it would have been served in 1800 at the meetinghouse.

The communion is always open to all believers.

If you have demonstrations or a subject you would like to do a short lesson on, please let us know so we can fix a time slot for you and advertise. We are looking for vendors and have two already!

David Book will have his quality 18th and early 19th century original and reproduction goods for living history store set up with us this year. You may remember him from God's Ground in Iowa.

Enclosed is a pre-registry form we would like you to fill out and return to us for insurance purposes.

Keep checking our website as we add things to it all summer: rrmh.org

We hope to see you this October for our 20th Anniversary!
