With the upcoming retirement of Thomas ‘Tommy’ Sandlin, there will be a few changes—but not too many—as his ‘big shoes’ are being filled by his ever-present sidekick, Tyler Davenport.

Tommy and Tyler have worked very closely for the last six-plus years since Tyler joined our technology staff.  In fact, it is hard to say Tommy without saying Tyler!  With Tyler moving into this important role of Technology Coordinator for the district, the change will be much easier on all involved.

Tommy has been with Logan County Schools for the last 26 years, having started as an HVAC tech and then transitioning to our Assistant Technology Coordinator, a positon he held for several years before taking the reins as Technology Coordinator over six years ago.

Tommy’s service to Logan County Schools has been invaluable to the advancement of supportive technologies into the hands of teachers and students, not to mention the impact of districtwide networking. Tommy has secured several hundred thousand dollars in grant money, including the latest $100,000 Carpenter Foundation Grant we just received.

Our district has much to thank Mr. Sandlin for, as he has been a loyal and supportive part of our system. Tommy will truly be missed by everyone.

Tyler will be stepping into his new role starting Jan. 1, as Tommy will make his exit at the end of December. We wish both of these gentleman the very best as they both start new chapters of their lives.
