Make your next visit to the Library a brief one, for a good cause, as part of Logan County Public Library’s Drop Your Drawers campaign.

Drop off packages of new underwear for boys and girls, preferably sizes 4-16, from November 1-December 30, at any of the Library’s branches. Donations will help replenish Logan County and Russellville’s elementary schools’ supplies of emergency underpants and provide direct assistance to each school’s Family Resource Centers.

The need is great. Schools are handing out many pairs a month to children who need clean underwear due to accidents at school or issues at home. Because parents often are unable to bring fresh underwear to their children during school hours, children can miss valuable learning time in the classroom.

The Library’s goal is to receive 1,000 pairs. Underwear will be distributed evenly to the six elementary schools in Logan County. The schools are: Adairville, Auburn, Chandlers, Lewisburg, Olmstead, and Stevenson.

The Drop Your Drawers campaign is easily recognizable by the popular character of Captain Underpants by author and illustrator Dav Pilkey.

The library’s collection of Captain Underpants children’s books will be on display (and available to check out) during the Drop Your Drawers campaign.  By all means, stay awhile and enjoy the library’s many services. (The Library doesn’t really want you to make your visit brief!)

Underwear may be dropped off at the Main Library located at 225 Armory Drive in Russellville, or at the Adairville and Auburn branch libraries.
