Snow Day

Friday’s snow day and the celebration of Martin Luther King Day on Monday has given students at RJSHS a four day break. The break comes at an excellent time as to allow for students, faculty and families a break from the flu season that often takes a hold this time of year. The Snow Day missed this past Friday will be made up on March 30.

MLK Day Celebration and March

Weather interrupted the planned MLK March this past Friday in downtown Russellville. Before being canceled, RJSHS Juniors, as part of their U.S. History studies were going to have the opportunity to march in honor of the Civil Rights Movement as well as the teachings of Dr. King alongside students from Logan County Schools. Through the diligent efforts of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neblett, the event was designed to expose the youth of the Logan Co./Russellville area to many of the important changes that Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement brought to our country.

Washington D.C. Trip Parent Meeting

Mrs. Nancy Skipworth, the RISD Coordinator for Gifted and Talented Studies, is in the process of organizing a school-sponsored trip to Washington D.C. for the 2018-19 school year. Students will have an opportunity to turn many of the Nation’s Capitol’s most iconic landmarks over several days. There will be a parent information meeting for any student/parent interested in learning more about this trip this Thursday at 6 p.m. in the RHS Library.
