LCHS Principal's Report for March 2

While numerous items in education are unsettled this time of year (legislation, assessment formats, etc.), one thing remains consistent – Our commitment to helping students reach their potential. Below you will find several items that demonstrate our efforts ensure each child’s needs are met, along with lists of recent accomplishments by LCHS students and staff members.

LC girls’ basketball (from Coach Greg Howard)

LCHS will be selling the following items in the front lobby today from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tickets and towels are selling fast. Admission at the door will be $8

Regional Tournament tickets for tonight’s games ($6)

“LC” towels ($5)

District Tournament long sleeve shirts ($10)

Band – when being in Diddle Arena it is not hard to tell who the best band is. LCHS band performances have been stellar and we invite you to come and hear for yourself just how good they are.

JROTC – LCHS is proud to announce our JROTC has been asked to perform at tonight’s opening game. They will post colors at approx.. 5:52pm. Proud of them and their honor of being recognized.

Cheerleaders – Our outstanding cheer squad will also be something to watch tonight as they tumble, build, and rock the house.

Come out tonight, waive your “LC” towels and show our area of the state the “PRIDE” our community has for our wonderful students as they perform.

Our Lady Cougars will tipoff against the Bowling Green Lady Purples at 6:00pm tonight in Diddle Arena. These girls have worked tremendously hard to get to this point and I encourage you and your families to be a part of the atmosphere tonight and come support these young ladies.

FBLA (from Mrs. Abbi Lillard)

On Tuesday, the Logan County High School FBLA competed at the Regional Leadership Conference in Owensboro. LCHS FBLA was awarded the Silver Banner for the Region 2 Local Leadership Challenge. Students received this honor for their participation in multiple FBLA National Programs including Super Sweeps, Non-Stop November, Action Awareness, raising money for March of Dimes, increased chapter membership, and contributing to the FBLA scholarship fund.

Competitive Events Awards Included:

Shelby Hardison placed 3rd in Job Interview

Katie Brooks placed 2nd in Journalism

Briley Robinson, Micah Page, Jessalyn Robey, & Mallory Whitson placed 2nd in Parliamentary Procedure

Price Brown placed 3rd in Investments & Securities

Maria Wells placed 3rd in the Talent Show Most Talented Category

Ben Meyer, Brianna Meyer, & Ross Coursey placed 3rd in Website Design

Mrs. Lillard was recognized as an Outstanding Adviser.

These students have qualified to go to the state conference in April. If you see them please congratulate them for their hard work. They did a great job and represented LCHS well

LC Archery (from Coach Tina Lynch)

The Logan County Archery team won the NASP Region 4 High School Division shooting a season high 3288. Senior Taylor Haley took top overall female and 1st place high school female shooting a 288. She was joined receiving individual medals by #2 Chloe Watkins (287), #3 CJ Raymer (286), #4 Kaylen Skipworth (281), #5 high school male Jaden Hayes (280).  Congratulations to the Logan County High School Archery Team. 

LC Swimming (from Coach Rachelle Wharton)

Congratulations to Riley Wharton on his 14th place finish in the 100m breaststroke at the KHSAA State Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend in Lexington. Riley went in to the finals with a qualifying time that placed him in 16th place. His finals time of 1:00.76 earned him 14th.
