RHS sophomore
Matthew Wilkerson has received an offer to attend both the Gatton and Craft Academies. Gatton, located at WKU, and Craft, which is located at Morehead State, are two of the nation’s top prep schools for Science and Mathematics. Matthew’s older brother and RISD student Phillip is currently a student at Gatton as well as RHS student Anna Shoulders. Matthew becomes the third RHS student in as many years to be accepted to one of these prestigious schools.

Star Testing This Week
Many students will Star Test this week in reading and math. These tests allow students to continually monitor their progress in the areas of reading and math through periodic testing that gradually provides more and more rigorous benchmarks.

Safety of RISD Schools a

Whole Community Effort

This past week, members of the RISD schools met at Logan Memorial with members of local police, fire, EMS, dispatch, and medical services to discuss plans, drills, and preparatory measures that Stevenson and RJSHS can take to ensure the safest and most proactive measures have been put in place for both schools as well as establishing clear lines of communication with first responders.

Keep Those Bottle Tops!

The RJSHS Family Resource Center needs your help! They are asking that you please save your bottle caps from all Coke products and turn them in to Mrs. Debbie Browder at RHS. These will go a long way in helping with what appear to be deep budget cuts to the FRYSC by the most recently proposed state budget. Tops may be dropped off at the front office.
