On Tuesday, Aug. 28, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce held its 10th Annual Women in Business Luncheon at the Logan County Extension Office. The room was full of more than 200 beautiful women, representing diverse backgrounds, that all came together to learn more about this year’s focus, “Creating Your Balance.”

Women are pulled in so many directions as wife, mother, grandmother, professional…and so much more. Keynote speaker Christy Smallwood of Eagle Eye Executive in Louisville came to tell us how to balance it all!

We honored our 2017 $1,000 Women in Business scholarship recipient, Katie Brooks. Her parents, David and Ami Brooks of Russellville, came to the stage to accept the award in her absence. After all, it was WKU’s first day of classes! Also in attendance were: Abbi Lillard with the Future Business Leaders of America as well as Jama Richardson with the Youth Ambassadors from Logan County High School.

The Logan Chamber’s Women in Business Committee honored Evelyn Richardson and Eloise Hadden for their part in documenting Logan County History and for sharing it with generations to come.

It was a beautiful day both inside and out and we have heard such a wonderful response from those in attendance. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
