We are closely monitoring the COVID data at both the state and local levels. Like you, we are concerned with the rising number of cases in our state.

Thursday, superintendents met virtually with Gov. Beshear to discuss the current situation in our state and his recommendations for moving forward. Superintendents were advised of the administration's concerns but that decision-making should take place at the local level.

We assure you that we continue to monitor the number of positive cases in our school district on a daily basis. At this time, the number of cases among students and staff at school has not mirrored the drastic spikes across our region and state. This is due to the diligence of our school staff in implementing thorough cleaning and safety measures. We are incredibly grateful to our students and staff for their cooperation in this effort.

Moving forward, we will continue to maintain close communication with the Logan County Health Department. Based on the current data, we will continue with our hybrid schedule as planned. However, students, parents and staff should be prepared to transition fairly quickly to virtual learning should our district see a large increase in the number of positive cases.

We appreciate your continued support and wish you a safe and restful four-day weekend.
