February 24-26, Adairville Archery will host the Fourth Annual Cardinal Archery Tournament in Adairville. The tournament began three years ago with 150 NASP Archers from Western Kentucky converging on Adairville for what turned out to be a very competitive tournament. Each year as word spread about what a great tournament Adairville hosted. the crowds and competition has grown.

This year teams from Kentucky and Tennessee will travel to Adairville to showcase their skills. Over 500 of the best archers in the nation will shoot in the Cardinal Classic; estimating an average of three family members per archer will mean over 2,000 people will visit Adairville during the three-day event. The size and quality of the tournament makes Adairville a premier destination for archers in late February as teams get one more chance to work on scores before the Regional Tournaments begin the first weekend in March.

Thursday flight times will start at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. Trigg County High School and LCHS will headline this night’s events. On Friday night the action kicks off with a 10-meter shoot at 5 followed with regular flights at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. with local teams Adairville, Lewisburg, Auburn, Russellville, and Chandlers shooting.

Saturday’s action starts at 9 a.m. with a new flight every hour until 5 p.m. and will feature Six teams from Henderson County, Muhlenberg South Elementary in their first year of archery, Chet, (a home school group from Nashville,) a team from Clarksville, and numerous individuals from South Central Kentucky.

The highlight of the tournament may be LCHS and Trigg going head to head on Thursday night. These two teams along with Henderson County High may be the three best teams in the nation, and those attending will see some incredible scores shot during this round.

Admission is $3 per adult, $2 for school age children and under school age free. Lots of good food will be served at each session. Stop by and check out the action and cheer the home team along.
