It is with great sadness and our deepest sympathy and respect, that we at Auburn Bank share that our former President and CEO, Mr. John Sheffield passed away on Sept. 25, 2025
Mr. Sheffield had a 47-year banking career and served as President of Auburn Bank from 2002 until his retirement in 2015. He continued to serve as Auburn Bank’s Chairman of the Board through December 2021.
Mr. Sheffield served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1971-1973 and he continued by serving the Logan County community throughout his entire banking career.
Mr. Sheffield’s legacy of leadership at Auburn Bank will continue to have a long-lasting impact on the future of our organization. John led with tremendous knowledge, honesty, strong ethics and dedication. He was more than a leader; he was our friend.
The current board, management and staff of Auburn Bank would like to recognize and sincerely thank Mr. John Sheffield for his service, guidance and positive influence within the 96-year history of our organization. He will be greatly missed!
